Unveiling of the monument to Borys Grinchenko

August 22, 2011 in the square next to the administrative building of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University at 18/2 Bulvarno-Kudryavska Street was unveiled a monument to Borys Grinchenko (sculptor Mykola Obeziuk, architect Mykola Bosenko).

For many generations, the life and work of Borys Grinchenko (1863-1910) is an effective example of genuine patriotism and asceticism in Ukrainian education and culture. Working for the people was the highest meaning and vocation of their lives. Borys Grinchenko never skimped on his own money to publish books for the people and spread education.
